LiveWell Prowers County to Host Community Conversations on Children’s Health
KL | Jul 07, 2014 | Comments 0
As a coalition LiveWell Prowers County has committed to working hard to make sure healthy choices are easy choices in Prowers County. The organization has made progress and has had many successes to celebrate! However, there is still important work to be done.
LiveWell Prowers County, Prowers County Health Alliance, and Civic Canopy (the experts the organization has contracted with to help with its collective impact project) will hit the road this July. They will be traveling throughout Prowers County asking moms, dads, grandparents, aunts, uncles, next door neighbors, educators, EVERYONE about what it will take to make sure all children grow up healthy in Prowers County.
They believe that the solutions to our high childhood obesity rates in Prowers County can be found within our community’s true experts–RESIDENTS!! To start uncovering those solutions LiveWell Prowers County will be hosting four community conversations. The conversations start THIS WEEK in Granada and Holly. Conversations in Lamar and Wiley will take place at the end of July.
Community Conversation Schedule:
- Wednesday, July 9th in Holly from 6-8 pm @ Holly Senior Center
- Thursday, July 10th in Granada from 6-8 pm @ Granada Community Center
- Wednesday, July 30th in Lamar from 6-8 pm @ Lamar Community Building
- Thursday, July 31st in Wiley from 6-8 pm @ Wiley School
There will be a FREE dinner, FREE childcare and interpreters at each event. All residents are welcome to attend. If you are unable to attend the conversation in your home town, please feel free to attend one of the other sessions.
