Parade of Lights Winners Announced by Lamar Chamber

Temperatures were just chilly enough this past Friday evening, to bring a Christmas-like feel to the annual Lamar Chamber of Commerce Parade of Lights.
Clear skies, a full moon and streets lined with area residents were on hand to watch the annual procession along Main Street that ended with a stop for Santa’s special sleigh at the Enchanted Forest on East Beech Street. The jolly old elf spent the remainder of the evening, hosting young and old at his workshop, while Santa’s train provided rides around the Forest for the first night of festivities.
The first place float entry for this year’s parade, with the theme, “Enchanted Winterland”, was the hands down favorite from Rundell Ranch for the adult category with honorable mention to Munoz Trucking. Prowers Medical Center had the first place entry for kids with Parkview Elementary Student Council for honorable mention, and the Walking category went to Community State Bank.
The Lassie in Lamar was also honored with the People’s Choice Award for best window display this year.
