Holly Gateway Fair, 2014-“Cowboy Boots and Country Roots”

Tom and Charlotte Massar were the Grand Marshalls of this year’s parade in Holly. The route traditionally stretches north from Tony Garcia Drive, through downtown, across Highway 50 to the exhibition building and reverses course back to Tony Garcia Drive.  As has happened in past years, Highway 50 travelers just pull off the road into various parking lots and join the on-lookers as the parade passes them by.

After the floats passed in review, the exhibitions were open to the public for viewing through most of the day. Saturday activities included the early morning softball tournament, followed by horse races at Gateway Downs, tractor pull competition and a 5pm BBQ at the sale barn, followed by the 6pm Small Fry Show.  The market animal sale was scheduled for 6:30pm along with the beef give-away.  This year’s fair concluded with the Sunday afternoon Ranch Rodeo.
