“The most popular form of exercise in the United States is walking.”
We’re Baaaack!!! The High Plains Walking Club will meet every Saturday morning at Lamar Community College from 8:00 to 9:00 a.m. at the Wellness Center’s indoor track. The High Plains Walking Club is facilitated by Beth Parker and Holly Burton, Health Coaches from High Plains Community Health Center. This walking program is designed to help you improve your health and energize your life.
“Our walking club is for anyone that is ready to walk their way to fitness and have a great time doing it. We will focus on cardio building through our walking, increasing core strength and cool down stretches,” explains Parker. Everyone who would like to participate is welcome. Children under the age of 14 must be accompanied by an adult.
Beyond the health benefits of walking, participating in the High Plains Walking Club will allow you to walk in a safe environment on a walking track; you will have the opportunity to socialize with other individuals that are also interested in improving their health; you will be a part of group that will support your goals and keep you accountable to achieve your goals; and, as a member of the club you will make friends that will keep you motivated and inspired to be your best. Get out your walking shoes and join us. It’s free! For more information please contact Beth Parker at High Plains Community Health Center, 719-336-0261.
