LCC Rodeo Signs Schaapman

Randy Schaapman, of Manteca, CA, signs his letter of intent to rodeo for Lamar Community College during the Spring of 2014. “Randy qualified for the 2013 California Cowboys Association finals and finished the year in 7th place in bull riding. He should make an immediate impact for our men’s team,” stated LCC Head Rodeo Coach Fred Sherwood. LCC’s Rodeo Team begins their season on March 14 in Gillette, WY.
Dylan Wahlert of Kim, Co is currently 6th in the Central Rocky Mountain Region in Bareback riding and will lead the LCC mens rodeo team into action on March 14 at Gillette College. The womens team is led by Codie Brown of Plainwell, MI who is 7th in Breakaway Roping in regional standings. Brooke Smith of Wetmore, CO is 9th in Goat Tying, and Keely Smith of Wetmore, CO is 15th in Goat Tying and 15th in Barrel Racing. The womens team is currently sitting 5th in the Region after the fall season. The team will travel to Torrington, WY on April 4-6, Ft. Collins, CO on April 11-13, Casper, WY on April 25-27, and will complete the regular season in Laramie, WY on May 2-4.
