(Lamar, Colorado; January 23, 2014) Lamar Community College is offering over 375 online courses this spring semester to better serve the community of Lamar and the surrounding area. The first session of Online courses start on January 27th.
By offering a multitude of courses, residents in the area can take high quality classes with students from across the nation, and still have the ability to receive one-on-one help from LCC’s staff.
The large course schedule gives area residents the opportunity to build toward a degree or certificate, or take a single course of interest to enhance their knowledge base. The low cost of community college courses in comparison to 4-year colleges is an added bonus to help students save money.
“Online courses give our students the opportunity to take courses we may not offer on campus”, stated Cheryl Sanchez, LCC Vice President of Academic Services and Student Services. “By utilizing the partnership between LCC and the Colorado Community College System, we have the ability to offer the same courses to our students as the Front Range schools offer to their students. Another added benefit to taking online courses from your hometown college is you have the ability to use the on-campus services, like the tutoring center and student services, to ensure you are successful.”
