Friday, August 23
At 11:55 pm on August 23, fire personnel were dispatched to 101 North 12th Street in Lamar on report of a passenger vehicle fire. Upon arrival at the scene, fire personnel found a Jeep in the front yard fully engulfed in flames. Engine 2 crew attacked the fire and was able to knock the fire down with exception of the engine compartment before other unites arrived to assist. The hood was opened and all flame extinguished. After further investigation, it was determined that the fire could possibly be attributed to faulty wiring. The owner was not contacted as there was no one int he home or around the area. Engine 2 crew performed salvage and overhaul before returning to service.
Saturday, August 24
At 2:19 am on August 24, fire personnel were dispatched to a vehicle accident on US Highway 287. Fire personnel were called to the scene of a vehicle rollover accident with two parties trapped inside the vehicle. R-1 responded but was cancelled en route to the scene of the accident.
