Crash Ejects and Injures Three Teenagers

The Colorado State Patrol is currently investigating a serious injury crash that occurred on Friday, August 2, 2013 at approximately 3:30am. The crash occurred on Colorado Highway 109 approximately 5 miles south of La Junta.
A 1996 Chevrolet Camaro driven by Jacob Love, age 18 of La Junta, was traveling northbound on Highway 109 when the Camaro ran off the right (east) side of the road. The Camaro overcorrected, returned to the road, and rolled off the left (west) side of the road and came to rest on its top facing east. The driver and 2 passengers were ejected during the rolls.
The driver and passengers were transported to Arkansas Valley Regional Medical Center in La Junta with moderate to serious injuries. The driver was then flown to a hospital in Pueblo and a 19 year old female passenger from La Junta was flown to a hospital in Denver. A 14 year-old male passenger was treated and released from the hospital in La Junta, he was then arrested on an unrelated warrant.
Alcohol and drugs are considered to be possible factors and is currently under investigation. Neither the driver nor passengers were wearing seatbelts. Charges are pending and will be determined at the conclusion of the investigation.
