The Prowers County Development Incorporated Board of Directors narrowed their list of candidates for a new economic development director from nine to five. The directors held an executive session on Tuesday, July 9, to review the resumes from the initial nine applicants. Board president, Marsha Willhite said the five are being notified they have made it through the first round of reviews and the directors will hold another meeting on August 9 to assess the professional abilities and background of those five candidates and move forward from there.
Willhite said no date has been set at this time for in-person interviews. “We’d prefer to take our time to find the best candidate, rather than operate on a calendar based timetable,’ she explained. Willhite said that there was a good mix of regional and Front Range applicants. “A small percentage of candidates did have direct experience in economic development, but the majority offered more of a broad based scope in job experience,’ she added.
The board has been searching for a replacement for former economic development director, Lisa Nolder who resigned her position from PCDI after four years on May 31.
