Teen Summer Reading Program Top Readers celebrate at the end of summer pool party
The Lamar Public Library’s TEEN Summer Reading Program, “Beneath the Surface” came to a close Monday evening with an awards ceremony and swim party. 35 teens ranging from 6th – 8th grade were registered for the program and 24 teens actively participated.
Total number of pages read: 18,788.
Top Readers:
1st PLACE – Nicole Schale
Pages read – 4068. For her first place win Nicole received a Kindle Fire courtesy of Community State Bank and a Webkinz from Bettiann’s.
2nd PLACE – Bradley Sanders
Pages read – 2994. Bradley received a $15.00 Gift Certificate to Lamar Book Depot, and book in Playaway format, and and Ice Age character from the Flower Boutique.
3rd PLACE – Derick Gallegos
Pages read – 2257. Derick received a $10.00 Gift Certificate from J & N Shoes/Mr. D’s, 2 books, and an Ice Age character from the Flower Boutique.
PERFECT ATTENDANCE AWARD – Rilley Jackman
For his dedication to the Teen Summer Reading Program Rilley received a flying Google disk.
