LCC to Celebrate 75th Anniversary Homecoming Weekend

(Lamar, Colorado; April 8, 2013) Lamar Community College will hold a 75th Anniversary “Homecoming” on April 26 – 28 for alumni, current students, current and former faculty & staff, and community members. With a variety of events there will be something for everyone to enjoy.

On Friday, April 26th, the College will give free campus tours from 9a to noon. And from 1 to 5p, visitors can also go on a guided tour of Bent’s New Fort, Star Schoolhouse and Camp Amache for $10.00 per person.

On Friday evening, the College will hold its annual Antelope Night event for 2013 LCC graduates and their families at 6p in the Lamar Community Building.

Saturday’s festivities will begin with LCC’s 74th Annual Commencement at 10a, followed by a Homecoming Lunch at the Lamar Community Building at noon. The Alum of the Year will also be announced at the event. Everyone is encouraged to attend and enjoy a small program including the history of the college and a look to the future. Tickets are $12.50 each.

After the completion of the homecoming lunch, LCC’s Nursing Pinning will take place at 3p in the Wellness Center.

Beginning at 6p on Saturday evening, the College will hold a social at the Lamar Elks Lodge to complete the exciting day of activities. The event will include music highlighting eight decades, free appetizers, and a cash bar. The event is sponsored by the Lamar Elks Lodge.

LCC will round out the homecoming activities on Sunday with a Barrel Race at LCC’s Equine Complex Outdoor Arena at 11:30a. And Spreading Antlers Golf Course will have tee times available to friends of LCC throughout the day; reserve your time by calling 719.336.5274
