City of Lamar Sales Tax Starts 2013 with Gains

 

Total Sales and Use Tax Collections for the City of Lamar are up by 11.83% for a gain of $29,306.07 over 2012 at this time.  These figures are for January 2013, collected this past February.  City Sales Tax is up 4.27% for a $9,710.52 gain and Use Tax and Other Collections categories also noted improvement.  Total Sales and Use Tax Collections is $277,022.41, compared to this time in 2012 at $247,716.34. 

Year to Date figures also note an increased performance with Total Sales Tax up 5.56% for an increase over last year by $33,534.59.  City Sales Tax, YTD is up 1.51%. 

Sales tax Increases were mixed among the 12 retail sales categories listed by the city, comparing 2012 to 2013:
