The Lamar Community College Foundation is proud to announce Clint Buringa as its Spring 2013 John E. Ketcham Memorial Scholarship recipient. Karen Ketcham presented Clint with his $1,000 scholarship. A freshman from Golden, Colorado, Clint is completing an Ag Transfer (Associate of General Studies) degree and competes on the LCC Rodeo Team in team roping (header).
The scholarship seeks to honor Ketcham, a former LCC Horse Training & Management instructor and long-time rodeo coach. The award was made possible through the generous donations from friends and family, made at the time of John’s death. In addition, the scholarship was further enhanced through a match from the Fortunaires Club Charitable Foundation, Inc., of which Karen is a member through Transamerica Life Insurance Company. Karen Ketcham explained, “the Ketcham family is grateful to be able to support Clint, an excellent candidate, and LCC through this fund.”
LCC students may apply for the 2013-2014 John E. Ketcham Memorial Scholarship by accessing the LCC Ag Scholarship packet at www.lamarcc.edu/scholarships. Applications are due on April 5, 2013.
