Prowers County Sheriff’s Report, October 2012

The Prowers County Sheriff’s office received 279 calls for service in October, 2012.  Of those, 137 were from Lamar, 101 from the County, 26 from Holly and seven from Wiley with five from Granada. 

There were 50 jail-related calls from Lamar for that month and 18 warrant arrest calls with three for DUIs and one for domestic violence.  The County reported 16 traffic accident calls and nine for animal problems and eight calls related to thefts.    For October, 12 warning tickets were issued and 19 traffic citations and summonses with nine criminal summonses posted.  Four new cases were assigned for investigation, 16 cases were cleared and eight investigations are still active.  County investigations resulted in 20 charges being filed for October. 

Year-to-date bookings in the county jail are at 1,152 with 130 booked for this past October and 118 for 2011.  Five inmates were reported to ICE immigration authorities and the average number of inmates held each day for October was 40.   There were 7,362 persons screened entering the Prowers County Courthouse in October for a daily average of 320. 

Courthouse security made seven arrests on individuals who had warrants for their arrests.  James Edward Rose, 22, of Lamar, was charged with criminal mischief and unlawful conduct on public property after he created a disturbance inside the courthouse  and then damaged a door upon leaving. 

Deputies and Lamar Police Department officers arrested Cynthia Holloway, 50, of Lamar, for unlawful possession of a schedule II controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.  Holloway was being held at the Prowers County Jail on $4,000 bond. 

Cost of inmate meals for October was $10,184.25 and medical expenses for the month were $1,410.37.  Expenses for October came to $181,259.17 and year-to-date is $1,748,459.87.  Revenue for October is $20,641.49 and year-to-date is $346,185.89.
