Dear Letter to the Editor,
GOOD THINGS ARE HAPPENING because of the Lamar Partnership Inc. Founded in 2010, Lamar Partnership, Inc. is a non-profit organization comprised of local partners, business owners and interested citizens who want to preserve, promote and enhance Lamar. The Partnership implements a variety of programs, including business attraction and retention, marketing, redevelopment, architectural services, and community outreach.
I WANT to commend the LPI Board of Directors with the support of City Council for making a new change to our Downtown. I LOVE the newly painted red light poles on Main Street. Just wait till you see the new banners that will accompany the poles. They are so bright and beautiful. How exciting this is for our community! Soon you will see the benches and trash cans painted to match the light poles. What a great way to LIVEN up our community! This is called Design on a Dime. I know some of you are thinking the red light poles don’t look so good or may give our community a bad name. The LPI Board hosted a Branding Party on Friday, November 9th to show off the video explaining this project. If you missed it, I would like to invite each of you to visit with LPI Director, Shawna Hodge, and see the full Brand Logo Development and positioning statement before you make an assumption on the project. You may reach Ms. Shawna Hodge at 719-688-8073 to make an appointment.
