The 2012 Summer Reading Program at Lamar Public Library kicked off its first special program Tuesday with a variety of magic tricks! Magician “Mr. E”, came for an hour long program that featured optical illusions, card, rope, and other various magic tricks. “Mr. E” also incorporated the message that the 230 children and adults in the audience can learn magic tricks and many other things simply by checking out a library book.
Following the themes of Dream Big — READ! for younger readers, Own the Night for teens and Between the Covers for adults, the library’s summer program includes a host of activities such as special performers, story times, craft times and more.
All programs are free and open to the public.
