Police Chase Down Burglary Suspect

On Sunday, June 24, 2012 at approximately 0630 hours officers responded to the 800 block S. 13th Street on a report of a vehicle being broken into and the car stereo being taken. Officers located shoe impression in the area and were advised the possible suspect fled on foot northbound. Officers tracked the shoe impressions to a residence located in the 500 block South 13th Street .
Officers were then led in a foot pursuit which resulted in the arrest of Daniel Terry Marez 24, of Lamar who had an active felony warrant. Officers completed a search warrant on the residence which Marez was hiding in and located the stolen property and other evidence.
Marez was taken into custody and transported to Prowers County Jail, where he is held on a $10,000 any type bond for the warrant and a $50,000 cash only bond for pending charges of Burglary, Criminal Trespass, Theft, Possession of Schedule II Controlled Substance and Resisting Arrest.
