The city council’s work session will consist of a presentation from Ennovate Incorporated regarding performance contracting. The firm conducts energy audits for city buildings, contracts to have energy-saving improvements installed, provides financing for the project and guarantees that the energy savings realized will finance the alterations.
In regular session, the council is holding a pubic hearing to amend the 2003 State Highway Department Model Traffic Code. A public hearing will be held regarding renewing the franchise for Cablevision Systems Corporation by the city council. That company assumed ownership of Bresnan Communications and their contract with the city which expires September 12, 2014. The city’s master contract with TEC, The Engineering Company, will be considered for transfer to Farnsworth Group which recently took over TEC.
The council will consider approving the re-appointment of Daniel Neuhold for a five-year term on the Water Advisory Board, and the appointment of Bryce Hiigel to the Parks and Recreation advisory Board for a three-year term. Other contract considerations include a six month rental to a personal exercise trainer, of the city’s CV and weight room at the community building. Another agreement includes security services to be provided by the Lamar Police Department for a “Caged Conflict” event at the Community Building on Saturday, February 18 from 6pm to midnight.
Two annexation requests will be considered along with future public hearings. One property in question is located along Yucca Drive and South 14th Street and the other is for 5 acres of vacant property adjacent to Memorial Drive. The council’s work session will begin at 6:30pm at council chambers, followed by the regular meeting at 7pm.
