2011 Was a Dryer Year

The National Weather Service indicates that 2010 was wetter than 2011 in southeast Colorado.
The wettest month for Eads was August with 2.99 inches of rain, the driest was October with 0.15. August was the wettest month for Haswell with 2.33 inches and the driest was October with 0.08. John Martin Dam received 3.06 inches of precipitation in August and only 0.07 in January for 2011. The wettest month for La Junta was June with 1.68 inches and the driest was February with 0.06. Lamar’s wettest month was June with 3.40 inches and only 0.08 for March. Las Animas had 2.45 inches for June and only 0.09 for January. July was Walsh’s wettest month, recording 1.42 inches of precipitation and the driest was last January at 0.30.
