Lamar Council-Redevelopment Authority Meets Monday

The Lamar Redevelopment Authority will meet at 6pm, prior to the city council’s work session this evening. The brief meeting will allow for a resolution appropriating monies needed for the Authority’s 2012 budget. The sums are those expected by the City Treasurer, to be collected from property taxes, $128,531.
The Work Session, scheduled for 6:15pm, will concern a letter of authorization requested for Honeywell Building Solutions to perform a preliminary feasibility analysis of the city’s water infrastructure, wastewater treatment plant and various city facilities. Honeywell proposes to develop a program to reduce operating costs, improve sewer/water revenues and help enhance services to citizens and develop revenue for improvements with long-range energy cost savings.
The regular council meeting will begin at 7pm this evening. Agenda items include the city Sales and Use Tax report for October; making two appointments to the ARPA board of directors; re-appointing a Municipal Judge; awarding a bid for road construction material for the year for the city and final actions on city employee health insurance contracts. An executive session has been scheduled for advice on legal matters pertaining to the city.
