The Cow Palace Inn’s request for a Hotel & Restaurant liquor License will be addressed in Monday night’s City Council meeting. A public hearing is scheduled for the 7pm meeting. The date was set by the Council during the September 26th meeting when the application was submitted by Palace Holdings, LLC, the new owners of the motel in Lamar.
The Lamar Chamber of Commerce will address the council to set a date for a public hearing for a special events permit application to host the annual Two Shot Goose Hunt from November 30 to December 2. The hearing date is set for November 28.
Another public hearing date will be set to receive comments regarding the renewal of the Cablevision Systems Corporation franchise for the city of Lamar. Cablevision Systems is the former Bresnan Communications company, and the expiration of the agreement with the city will expire in September, 2014. Contracts have been set for five-year periods.
The council will discuss signing a contract extension for the city’s State Historical Fund grant contract. The grant was issued to the city two years ago to conduct a historical and architectural survey of 70 buildings in the downtown business district. The project is about 65% complete at this time, and the project should be concluded by May 2012.
The city council meeting will begin at 7pm.
