PCDI to Begin Monthly Email Newsletter

Area businesses that wish to receive a monthly update on Prowers County Development Incorporated activities should send their emails to the economic development organization at pcdi@procolorado.orgThe new website is being fine tuned and should be available online shortly, pending final review by the website committee.

The Business Retention Questionnaire used by SEBREA members for several years is being pared down from its original form, to highlight more pertinent areas of business.  The editing will offer a better assessment of the strengths and needs of businesses in Prowers County.  Once in its completed form, at least two businesses a week will be contacted for a confidential interview.  The questionnaires will provide an economic development overview for Prowers County to aid in retail and industrial development.

Two potential clients recently toured the Washington Street property site, the former Big R warehouses and office.   Both has business interests related to wind energy development and may consider the buildings as a regional distribution site.  Although the property was initially listed with local realtors, the board will move ahead to offer the property on a broader scale, including Craigslist.  Lisa Nolder, PCDI executive director, said last week, that the Monday rain storm was a concern, but the pumping system on site at the property was adequate to handle any water runoff.
