PCDI Hosts Prowers County Economy Review

Southern Colorado Economic Development District is hosting a series of town hall meetings across a 12 county region of southern Colorado. The Prowers County meeting will be held Thursday, May 19 at 6:00 p.m. in the Mezzanine Room at the Prowers County Annex. This meeting is being co-sponsored by Prowers County Development, Inc.

The town hall discussions and planning sessions are part of the preparation of the ‘Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy’. We will provide an overview of Prowers County’s economy, discuss the challenges and opportunities and identify projects to promote economic growth and diversification. These meetings are critical for federal funding of major projects and therefore community participation is vital. We have had excellent feedback from attendees in other counties. The meetings will also provide some of the latest demographic and economic data regarding Prowers County.

Attendees will be provided a keypad polling device so that we may obtain maximum feedback from the citizens of your county. The responses are anonymous and only aggregate data will be collected from the community. The polling devices encourage people to voice an opinion when they may otherwise prefer not to make a public statement. We will also provide forms to identify projects that may be submitted after the meeting.

For further information on the meeting, please contact Lisa Nolder, Executive Director of Prowers County Development, Inc. at 336-2384 or 691-5800.
