Lamar/County, Losing Social Security Reps

Wednesday, May 18 is the last day for Social Security representatives to come to Lamar to assist with resident’s forms and questions. The action comes as a result of severe budget cuts in Colorado. The cutbacks have also eliminated the anticipated computer video monitor which was to be installed at the SOS Center. Any in-person assistance regarding Social Security issues will be held from the La Junta Office after May 18. The La Junta office, located at 1420 East Third Street, is open Monday through Friday from 9am to 4pm. The telephone # is 719-384-8887 or, 1-800-772-1213. The website is www.socialsecurity.gov.
