Total Sales and Use Tax Collections from the City of Lamar monthly sales tax report for October shows a 1.65% increase over October 2013 for a $4,195 gain.  City Sales tax was up 2.66% for that period, but the Use Tax dropped 9.81% for that time span.  Total collections for 2013 were $253,938 for October […]

Arrest Made in Wal-Mart Bomb Hoax

Virgil Hunt, 32, of Lamar, was arrested for the December 1st, false bomb threat for the local Wal-Mart store, according to interim Lamar Police Chief, Kyle Miller.
