A Celebration of life for longtime Lamar resident Ellnora DeWitt will be held at 2:00PM, Wednesday, December 17, 2014 at the Peacock Family Chapel with Ray Matteson of the Lamar Christian Church officiating. Interment will follow at Fairmount Cemetery.
Visitation for Ellnora will be held on Tuesday, December 16, 2014 from 1:00PM until 7:00PM at the Peacock Family Chapel.
Ellnora was born on October 2, 1917 at the homestead on Sandcreek south of Brandon, Colorado to William Bernard and Bertha Mae (Means) Tefertiller and passed away on December 11, 2014 at Lamar Estates at the age of 97.
She is preceded in death by her husband; James L. “Jim” DeWitt, her parents, son; Jimmy B. DeWitt, granddaughter; Michele DeWitt, great-grandsons; Jordan DeWitt and Koby DeWitt and her siblings; Blaine Tefertiller, Faye Tefertiller, W.E.” Ed” Tefertiller and Jessie James.
Ellnora is survived by her sons; Terry (Janet) DeWitt and Mickey (Sharon) DeWitt all of Lamar, daughter; Janet (Sherrod) France of Rawlins, WY, grandchildren; Wendy (Mark) Root, Misty (Jim) Hablutzel, Dustin (Staci) DeWitt, Tami (John) Earnhart, Dawn (Tim) Meyer, Copper (Tara) France and Jon France, 11 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandson. She is also survived by her sisters; Theo Kelley of La Junta and Marie (Ted) Barry of Cheyenne, WY, sister-in-law Bertha DeWitt of Grand Junction, CO as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other family and a host of friends.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Lamar Area Hospice, Lamar Estates Nursing Home and/or the charity of one’s choice either direct or in care of the funeral home office.
