Lamar City Sales Tax Shows Slight Gain

Total Sales and Use Tax Collections from the City of Lamar monthly sales tax report for October shows a 1.65% increase over October 2013 for a $4,195 gain.  City Sales tax was up 2.66% for that period, but the Use Tax dropped 9.81% for that time span.  Total collections for 2013 were $253,938 for October and $258,134 for 2014.

The Year to Date figures for the same measurements indicated a 5.14% drop, comparing 2013 to the most recent report.  City Sales tax collections were off by 5% and Use Tax collections were down 7.85%.  Total Year to Date collections were $3,169,961 for 2013 and $3,007,118 for this year for a difference of $162,842.
