The Lamar Chamber of Commerce Honkers and Chamber board members visited the Hot Spott Car Wash at 1200 East Olive Street in Lamar, Saturday, February 27th for their grand opening celebration.
Owners Matt and Shea Reinhardt converted the former Hot Spotte night club into a unique car wash, serving the motorists of southeast Colorado from 8am to 5pm Monday through Saturday. Vehicles travel a 100 foot wash tunnel to receive a variety of cleaning options. Clients are welcome to enjoy a treat from the ice cream soda fountain, or youngsters can ‘man’ the soap fun-gun to give their car an extra squirt or two of soap as it passes in front of their viewing window. Chairs, tables and sofas and reading materials, plus a wide screen tv are available to pass the time while a vehicle receives a once-over before it’s ready to roll.
The opening day celebration included all-day music from DJ Vic Coberly while customers were offered free ice cream cones. Some prizes were also available, including free car washes for a year to the 50th customer of the day. That prize was won by Ken and Glenda Roe of Lamar.
