Richard D. Spitzer…September 16, 1935 – February 20, 2016

A celebration of life for longtime Lamar resident, Richard D. Spitzer will be held at 2:00PM on Thursday, February 25, 2016 at the Lamar Christian Church with Ray Matteson officiating. Interment will follow in the McClave Cemetery. 

Visitation for Richard will be held on Wednesday, February 24, 2016 from 3:00PM until 6:00 P.M. at the Peacock Family Chapel. 

Richard was born on September 16, 1935 in Bent County, Colorado to Eli Franklin and Eva Marie (Colburn) Spitzer and passed away on February 20, 2016 at his home in Lamar at the age of 80. 

He is preceded in death by his parents and his siblings, Harold Spitzer, Lloyd Spitzer, his twin brother, Robert Spitzer, and sister, Mary Chatham. 

Richard is survived by his siblings, Edwin Spitzer and Clyde (Pat) Spitzer all of Walsenburg, CO; Harry (Flossie) Spitzer of Lamar; Thelma Schibbelhut of Holly; Lola McElroy of Las Animas and Norma Lou Boggio of Lamar. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends also survive.  

Memorial contributions may be made to the Lamar Area Hospice and/or the Lamar Christian Church either direct or in care of the funeral home office.  

Services are under the direction of the Peacock Family.
