Radio Car Racing is Underway at the Lamar Elks Lodge

Want to take your vehicle around some hairpin turns at excessively high speeds, outdistancing your closest competitor? Rebound off retaining walls and spin out a couple of times and get back on the straightaway to retake your lead in the pack. Bump your opponent out of the way when no one is looking? Cross the finish line ahead of all challengers and enjoy your victory lap?
If you say yes to all these things and are only about 10 years old, and you have a radio controlled vehicle, bring it out to the Lamar Elks Lodge Sunday, February 21st from 2pm to 4pm and race away the afternoon. This is a new offering from the Lamar Elks Lodge members and it’s open to all ages, not just the young set. If you have a radio controlled car, truck or even motorcycles, the race course is open to you free of charge.
The project is still in the development stages, but right now the Elks are just looking to see how many interested people there are in the community who would enjoy some semi-organized races. If you got a car for Christmas and it’s just been sitting in the closet; dust it off, charge it up and bring your family or a couple of friends to the Lamar Elks Lodge on Sunday, February 21st.
