(Lamar, Colorado; February 11, 2016) Lamar Community College and the LCC Foundation are pleased to announce that the College will break ground on the College’s new residence hall on Tuesday, February 16, at 1:30pm just north of Todd-Burch Hall on the LCC campus. The public is welcome to attend the event. Parking for the groundbreaking event will be available in the student lot between the Administration/Bowman Buildings and Todd-Burch Residence Hall.
Camp & Currell Construction of Lamar has been selected as the general contractor for the project and will begin construction immediately after.
The College’s future growth is tied to its ability to provide additional and upgraded on-campus student housing. The College will start taking applications this spring for fall occupancy. The hall is expected to be completed by July 31.
LCC and the Foundation plan to build two more units to provide additional on-campus residential housing. Todd-Burch Hall will remain open and occupied during construction and well into the future.
Together the College and Foundation have raised $1,108,595 for the residence hall project. The LCC Foundation is grateful to contributors who have donated $491,235 to the project so far. It has $141,405 remaining in its quest to raise a total of $1,250,000 for the project.
Contributions are still being accepted for the residence hall. In addition to standard deductions, contributions are also eligible for a 25% Enterprise Zone tax credit through Southeast Colorado Enterprise Development, Inc.
