LAMAR — Thursday, February 25, 2016 — The Governor’s Commission to Study American Indian Representations in Public schools will be in Lamar, Colorado to discuss Lamar High School’s Mascot.

The Governor’s Commission to Study American Indian Representations in Public Schools was created in an Executive Order by Governor John Hickenlooper last year. One of the main goals of the Commission is to host open, constructive public discussions among constituents statewide, in both urban and rural communities. Lamar is the third community visited by the Commission. Previous commission stops include Strasburg and Loveland.
