Lamar Chamber Accepting Citizen of the Year Nominations

Lamar, CO – The Lamar Chamber of Commerce is now accepting nominations for the 2016 Citizen of the Year award. This award is presented annually to honor an individual that has made a substantial contribution to the Prowers County area.
The nominees must have exhibited leadership in community projects and be involved in civic activities that benefit the community. Nominees may be involved in health or human services, education, recreation, arts or cultural improvement, economic development or community based organizations which contribute to the quality of life of our community. Nominees should have specific and noteworthy accomplishments.
Nomination forms are available from the Lamar Chamber of Commerce for the 2016 honoree.
The criteria to be considered in presenting a name include: purpose, leadership, community Involvement and cooperation and support. The person’s profession, position and company of employment as well as a biographical sketch is required. The nominations should be submitted in a sealed envelope and a confidential panel will select the recipient who will be announced during the Lamar Chamber of Commerce annual banquet, Thursday, January 28th at the Wolves Den Events Center.
Nominations should be submitted no later than noon on Friday, January 22. Reservations for the banquet dinner should be made over the next two weeks. Contact the Lamar Chamber offices at 719-336-4379 for additional information.
