A celebration of life for longtime Lamar area resident, Jim Ellenberger will be held at 10:00AM on Thursday, January 21, 2016 at the Lamar Christian Church with Ian Blacker officiating. Interment will follow at Wiley Cemetery in Wiley, Colorado.
Visitation for Jim will be held from 1:00PM until 5:00PM at the Peacock Family Chapel.
Jim was born on July 13, 1927 at McClave, Colorado to James Quinter and Iva (McKitrick) Ellenberger and passed away on January 13, 2016 at Weisbrod Memorial Nursing Home in Eads, Colorado at the age of 88.
He is preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Marjorie Tiffany and Esther Sniff.
Jim is survived by his wife, Marie Ellenberger of the family home in Lamar; children, Julie (Mike) Cook of Rye, CO; Teresa (Jake) Jacobs of Littleton, CO; Susie (Paul) Smith of Coral Springs, FL; Marti (Brian) Ferris of Wiggins, CO and Eric (Shannon) Ellenberger of Lamar; ten grandchildren; one great-grandchild and one on the way. He is also survived by his sister, Rhea Vickers as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association and/or McClave School Alumni either direct or in care of the funeral home office.
