2016 Crop Production Workshop in Southeastern Colorado

Area farmers, crop consultants and pesticides applicators are invited to a Crop Production Workshop co-sponsored by Pioneer DuPont, Colorado Corn, Golden Plains Insurance, Farm Credit of Southeastern Colorado, 4 Rivers Equipment, Helena Chemical Company and Colorado State University Extension.  The workshop will take place in Lamar at the Bowman Building at Lamar Community College on Wednesday January 6, 2016.  The program will start at 8:30 am.

This year’s agenda includes a presentation by Dr. John Stulp on the Colorado’s Water Plan.  Also, there will be a number of Colorado State University Extension Specialists presenting on wheat and corn insect pests, herbicide resistant weed management, soil salinity management, and crop residue effects on soil’s physical and chemical properties.  In addition, there will be presentations on the economic optimum nitrogen rate for triticale production and Pioneer new corn plant technology, and weather patterns and irrigation.

The program has been approved for Certified Crop Adviser and Colorado Commercial Pesticide Applicator Continuing Education Credit Units (Categories 101 and 103).  Lunch will be provided.
