Each year, the Prowers Medical Center Auxiliary raises funds to reinvest many worthy causes, most related to local healthcare. The Auxiliary contributes four $1,000 scholarships for Level II Lamar Community College Nursing students annually. PMC Auxiliary members and scholarship recipients met on Monday, October 26 to meet and make introductions.
Auxiliary members took a break from preparations for their booth at the LCC Arts, Crafts, & Food Festival on Saturday, November 7th to meet the recipients. The group will sell home-baked goods, homemade noodles, and handmade items to raise funds for its 2016-2017 scholarships and other community contributions. The Auxiliary operates the PMC gift shop, stocking a large selection of gift items and homemade articles year around. This year the Auxiliary purchased a new imaging table for PMC’s imaging department and new trays for the hospital’s kitchen, in addition to funding scholarships. Auxiliary members appreciate the community’s overwhelming support over the years.
