Lamar Division of Vocational Rehabilitation inducted into the Lamar Chamber of Commerce

LAMAR, Colo. — The Lamar Division of Vocational Rehabilitation (DVR) will host the Lamar Chamber of Commerce for a “business to business” ribbon cutting. The ribbon cutting marks the Lamar DVR induction into the Chamber of Commerce. The event will be at the DVR offices; 1006 South Main Street, Lamar CO 81052 on Dec. 8, 2015 at 10 a.m.
This event is an opportunity for the Lamar DVR and the Lamar Chamber of Commerce to work in partnership toward accomplish DVR’s goal of bridging business and ability for people with disabilities in the Lamar workforce. David Atkinson, Business Outreach Specialist with the Lamar DVR states, “We are looking forward to continuing our partnership with the entire southeastern Colorado business community.”
The Lamar DVR is committed to helping local employers find candidates who are skilled, loyal, and committed to the businesses success. After placement, employers and employees receive ongoing support from DVR’s professional staff, including job training, direction on ADA regulations, and information on disability and employment guidelines. DVR can also help with financial incentives and facilitation of tax credits.
Across Colorado and in Lamar many workers with proven skills are left out of the workplace. As Colorado’s leading placement organization for people with disabilities, the Lamar DVR is working to change this by bridging talent and ability so companies and employees succeed.
