The Colorado State Patrol is investigating a 2-vehicle crash that occurred on Colorado Highway 385 at Second Street in Bristol, Colorado.

A 1999 Toyota Sienna, driven by Zona Lashbrook, age 81, of Bristol, Colorado, attempted to make a left turn from northbound Colorado Highway 385 onto Second Street in Bristol. The Toyota was struck by a southbound, 2001 Peterbuilt, driven by Benjamin Rubio, age 41, of Lamar, Colorado.  The Toyota Sienna rolled to rest, west of Colorado Highway 385.  The Petrbuilt came to rest on the southbound shoulder of Colorado Highway 385.

Lashbrook was not wearing her seatbelt at the time of the crash, which lead to her sustaining serious injuries. Lashbrook was transported to Swedish Medical Center.  Rubio was wearing his seatbelt and sustained no injuries.

Drugs and alcohol are not considered to be contributing factors to the crash.

The Colorado State Patrol would like to remind everyone to use their seat belts every time they get in a vehicle.  The CSP media release was issued on 10-30-15.
