Steven Michael Elliott, a resident of Colorado Springs since 1973, passed away Thursday, October 8, 2015. He was a communications installer.
He was born on November 10, 1959 in Denver, Colorado to James Thomas Elliott and Bonnie Louise (Barneycastle) Elliott.
Steven often said that he was born 100 years too late. He was a minimalist in everyday life and a collector of artifacts. Steve loved his dog and he was passionate about the outdoors, spending most weekends four-wheeling, camping, hiking, fishing, mining, and backpacking. In his own words he would say, “I’ve been there,” when talking about high mountain lakes, wilderness hikes, and rivers in Colorado. Steve was a dedicated off road enthusiast and enjoyed annual trips, with friends, extreme four-wheeling in Moab.
Steve is survived by his siblings: Donna (husband David) Emick, and Terry (wife Jeanette) Elliott; and by his beloved dog, Jesse. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 15, 2015 at Shrine of Remembrance “America the Beautiful” Chapel in celebration of Steven’s life.
