Members of the Southeast Colorado Arts Guild (SECAG) Judging Committee have selected Andy Goettel, an accomplished sculptor and all around artist as the Judge for the 21015 Autumn Art Show to be held at the Shore Art Center in downtown Lamar, CO.
Andy Goettel retired in May 2010 from Meeker High School where he taught art for much of his 35-year teaching career. During his tenure he taught students in a myriad of mediums including: drawing, acrylics and oil painting, watercolors, pottery and sculpture, photography, printmaking and computer graphics. Andy also taught college and adult classes through Colorado Northwestern Community College.
As a professional artist Andy operates a pottery studio called G3 Pottery & Arts. The work Mr. Goettel produces is a combination of functional stoneware, raku work and sculptural forms. His work can be seen and is available for purchase at the Upstairs Gallery in Meeker, Colorado and the Meeker Classic Craft Fair where G3 Pottery & Arts have been quality vendors and part of the Meeker Classic for years.
Mr. Goettel’s credentials are numerous and he most recently won awards in the Glenwood Springs Art Guild Show and the Colorado Art Educators Show. He has juried many art exhibitions over his career. Andy is married to Susan Goettel; they have one daughter, Gabrielle, who graduated from Whitworth University in Spokane.
