The Pocket Park, north of the Shore Arts Center, served as the gathering place for over 100 persons who used the portable tables and chairs as a picnic area which was decorated with various potted plants. Prowers County Judge Stan Brinkley ran the grill as burgers were served up to the crowd who helped themselves to all the needed fixings for their meal.

While kids ran about and adults talked and ate, the ‘Take Five’  jazz band held center stage, performing a variety of music through the afternoon and evening. Vendors along Main Street the sidewalks displayed their wares, where Vic Coberly served as the downtown DJ. Youngsters who noticed the inflatable playground on West Elm Street at the SECED parking lot ran off some energy in the bouncing booth.
