Vera Hendrickson…August 20, 1942 – June 28, 2015

Funeral services for Vera Hendrickson will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 2, 2015 at Valley Memorial Funeral Chapel in Lamar, Colorado with Pastor Ian Blacker officiating. Interment will take place at Fairmount Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 1, 2015.

Vera Mae Hendrickson was born on August 20, 1942 in Holly, Colorado. Vera was the daughter of Lewis Cathcart and Opal (Speer) Cathcart-Conley. She passed away on June 28, 2015 at Parkview Medical Center in Pueblo, Colorado at the age of 72.

Vera started working as a clerk at Tempo until she began working as a bookkeeper at Valley State Bank. She then started working at the Prowers County Clerk office. After retiring from her job at the County Clerk’s office, Vera bought Holly Floral in Holly, Colorado. She then began working at First National Bank. Vera was baptized at the Booker Christian Church in Booker, Texas. She was also a member of the Eagles Auxiliary. She taught sewing for 4-H and was also a square dancing set mom.

Vera is survived by her husband, Richard Hendrickson of Lamar, Colorado; children, Mikki Hirschler of Pampa, Texas, Royce Heck and wife, Rae of Highlands Ranch, Colorado, and Marla Fierro and husband, Todd of Lamar, Colorado; siblings, Jessie Miller of Sulphur Springs, Texas and John J. Cathcart of Denver, Colorado; six grandchildren, Brenna Waterbury and husband, Michael, Chance Hirschler and wife, Cassandra, Lauren Heck, Seth Heck, Aaron Heck, and Aliceson Fierro; two great grandchildren, Aimee and Dillon Waterbury; step-siblings, Toni Whitney, Rick Conley, and Buddy Conley; many other relatives and a host of friends.

Vera is preceded in death by her parents, Lewis Cathcart and Opal Cathcart-Conley; stepfather, John Conley; and siblings, Gilbert Cathcart and Wanda McCann.
