To the Citizens of Prowers County: Regarding Beer Garden
Russ Baldwin | Jul 07, 2015 | Comments 0
The Sand and Sage Roundup Fairboard would like to clarify some information regarding the pending beer garden at this year’s fair.
There will be a public hearing on Monday, July 13, 2015 at the City Council Chambers at 7:00pm and any questions or concerns will be addressed at this time.
First, and foremost the beer garden will be located South of the grandstands in a fenced area-no one will be allowed to leave the fenced area with alcohol. It will not be located anywhere near the 4-H exhibits or the livestock pavilion. Second, the beer garden will NOT be open on Tuesday, Family Night or Wednesday, Kids Day.
The schedule will be: Saturday, August 1st, 6:00pm to 11:00pm, Thursday, August 6th, Friday, August 7th, and Saturday, August 8th from 3:00pm to 11:00pm. Third, the purpose of the beer garden is to make revenue which in turn will be used for improvements at the fairgrounds and to help support events during the fair. The fairboard has been approached numerous times as to why there is no beer garden at our county fair. People express the fact that you can go to other county fairs and they have all beer gardens.
We feel it is time to listen to our patrons and answer their wishes. We have researched this project several times over the last few years and we are not taking this matter lightly. Many hours have been spent planning so that this will be a safe and successful event. We have always appreciated the public’s support of our county fair and hope it continues.
