Sand and Sage Round-Up Show Times

Southeast Area—The Prowers County Livestock Committee, Horse Committee and Sand and Sage Round-Up Fair Board have worked diligently to set a full schedule of activities for the 2015 fair. The horse show will kick off the fair Saturday, July 25 at the Sand & Sage Pavilion. Entry begins at 8:00 a.m. and the show starts at 9:00 a.m.
There have been a few minor changes to the junior market livestock shows that the community should mark on their calendars so you do not miss the exciting action. The junior market swine show will be Wednesday, August 5 at 6:00 p.m. Thursday, August 6 will have a full day with market beef beginning at 9:30 a.m., market sheep at 11:00 a.m. and market goat at 4:00 p.m. The Champion Showman Round Robin will be Friday, August 7 at 10:00 a.m.
4-H projects will be on display in the Home Economics building Tuesday, August 4, swing by to see all of the talented cooks, cake decorators, fashion designers, photographers, woodworkers, rocket builders, leather crafters and more. Members have worked over the past year to fine tune their skills, improve their craftsmanship, and enhance existing leadership and community service.
Community members may also be interested in the apron contest this year. Fair board has created three new classes for community members to enter their vintage or homemade aprons. Come enter them on Wednesday, August 5 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Centennial Building.
4-H members and the CSU Extension office would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the committee members and fair board volunteers that put forth the time, labor, and dedication to the host the fair. 4-H is excited to be a part of the educational activities and competitive events.
