Lamar Tax Revenue Shows Steady Growth

May Sales and Use Tax collected this past June shows a continued growth with City Sales Tax up 6.5% for an increase over last year of $15,982 and Total Sales and Use Tax Collections for the same period were up 5.15% for an increase of $13,985. May 2015 collections were at $285,460 compared to the same period in 2014 at $271,474.
Year to Date collections were also up 7.70% for City Sales Taxes collected for an increase of $115,302. Total Sales and Use Tax Collections were up 6.89% for an increase of $113,335 over last year. Total year to date collections came to $1,757,901 for this year and were at $1,644,566 for 2014.
The tax revenue on the twelve retail sales categories showed mix results for increases:
