Joe Walker…January 24, 1930…July 29, 2015

A celebration of life funeral service for longtime Lamar resident, Joe Walker will be held at 2:00PM on Tuesday August 4, 2015 at the Lamar Christian Church with Ray Matteson officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairmount Cemetery in Lamar.

Visitation for Joe will be held from 1:00PM to 7:00PM on Monday August 3, 2015 and from 9:00AM to 11:00AM on Tuesday, August 4, 2015 at the Peacock Family Chapel in Lamar.

Joe Walker was born on January 24, 1930 in Cambridge, Nebraska to Joe and Eva M. (Moriarty) Walker and departed this life on Wednesday July 29, 2015 at his daughter’s home in Ordway at the age of 85.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents; by his wife – Ramona Walker; a daughter – Sharon Walker; by two sisters – Shirley and JoAnn; as well as by his brothers and sisters-in-law – Margaret Elliott, Ruth Benson, twins June Fritz and Jean Reynolds; Bill Fritz and Bob and Nita Fritz.

Joe is survived by his children; Harry (Judy) Hartshorn of Windsor, Colorado, Carol (Tom Campos) Bland of Ordway, Colorado, Berta (Mike) Downing of Lamar, Rae Jean (Manny) Rubio of Discovery Bay, California and Tina Hartshorn of Rancho Santa Margarita, California, grandchildren; D.J., Chris, Andy, Kurt, Ratena, Katrena, Chandra, Tyson, Adrianna, Alicia, Kiel, Kara, Blas, Keisha; by thirty-one great grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter. He is also survived by his brother-in-law; Clarence Reynolds of Lamar as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the Lamar Christian Church and/or Lamar Area Hospice either direct or in care of the funeral home office.
