Independence Adventure Camp
Southeast Area—Colorado State University Prowers County Extension is hosting the first annual Independence Adventure Camp June 29 through July 1 for ages 8-13 at the Sand & Sage Fairgrounds in Lamar, Colo. Extension has partnered with Prowers County Environmental Health, NRCS, 4-H Council, and many other community organizations to teach campers how to build rockets, design their own camp t-shirts, compete in a scavenger hunt, travel the Santa Fe Trail, environmental education, bake their own cupcakes, and many more activities.
Registration is $45 and is due to the Prowers County Extension office by June 25. This camp is available to the first 25 paid participants. This camp is open to any youth in the surrounding areas; 4-H membership is not required. Campers are asked to bring a sack lunch each day, snacks and drinks will be provided. Camp times will be as follows; June 29 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., June 30 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and July 1 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. For information please contact the Prowers County Extension office, (719) 336-7734.
