Beverly Augustine Being Recognized for 60 years as a Zontian

Beverly Augustine received special recognition from her fellow members for her sixty years of service to the Lamar Zonta organization during their May 12 meeting at the Rodeway Cow Palace Inn.  Augustine was presented with a banner for the club in recognition of her being a Zontian since 1955.  Zonta’s birthday was May 11, 1949.


The meeting also recognized new members and the installation of officers for their year.  Rosemary Marrin was selected as President and Liz Whitam as First VP and Braunwyn Nidey as Second VP.  Jane May was made Secretary and Debbie Widener as Treasurer.  Board members are Lisa Mendenhall, Karen Ketcham, Lori Parker, June Wolfe and Vicki Bond.  The members initiated into the Zonta Club were Katina Maldanado of Frontier Bank and Linda Frieberger of Lamar Community College.


Zontians of the Year were Linda Hawkins and Liz Whitam and scholarships were presented to  Tori Uhland–Young Women in Public Affairs; Kayle Austin–Non Traditional Grad Student at CSU; Peighton Martin–Open Scholarship, Nursing–Florida and Halie Schenk–LCC Student.
