World’s Most Ambitious Job Seeker to Speak at LCC

Living-the-Map,-Daniel-SeddiquiLamar Community College’s TRiO Program is sponsoring an event called Living the Map: 50 Jobs, 50 States, 1 Yearfeaturing motivational speaker Daniel Seddiqui.

Seddiqui has earned his spot as a job seeking expert and will share some of his insights at the event, which will be held on 7pm on Thursday, April 16, in the LCC Wellness Center.  The event is open to the public. Admission is free and the TRiO program will be raffling off several copies of his book, 50 Jobs in 50 States, along with a tablet.

Daniel Seddiqui is currently known as the World’s Most Ambitious Job Seeker, but USA Today has dubbed him the Most Rejected Person in the World.  After failing over 40+ consecutive job interviews and sending out 18,000 emails seeking a job after college graduation, Seddiqui embraced 5,000 more rejections with his new goal of finding and working 50 Jobs in 50 States. He left his economics degree from the University of Southern California behind and has since been everything from a weatherman in Ohio and a hydrologist in Colorado, to a coal miner in West Virginia and a rodeo announcer in South Dakota.

Daniel Seddiqui is scheduled to speak the day after the LCC’s Career Expo in the hope that his many invaluable career experiences can inspire students and community members to persevere along their college and career paths.

LCC’s annual Career Expo will be held on Wednesday, April 15th from 9:30am until 2:30pm in the LCC Wellness Center.  Area high school students will attend one of two sessions: from 9:30am to 11:30am or 12:45pm to 2:30pm.  During the time between these sessions, Lamar Community College students and community members are invited and encouraged to attend.
