Mary Bermudez…April 24, 1933 – March 21, 2015

A Mass of Christian Burial for Lamar, CO resident, Mary A. Bermudez will be held at 10:00 a.m. March 26, 2015 at St. Francis de Sales/Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Lamar, CO.  Interment will follow in the Veterans section of Fairmount Cemetery.  Rosary will be held at 9:30 a.m. on March 26, 2015 also at St. Francis de Sales/Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.

Mary Aggie Bermudez was born on April 24, 1933 in Trenchera, CO to Conrad Barela and Juanita Sarah Hurtado Trujillo.  She passed away on March 21, 2015 at Lamar Estates at the age of 81.

Mary was a nurse for many years as well as a secretary for an attorney in Las Animas, a farmer, manager of the IGA deli, and a foster parent.  Mary was a loving mother to five sons and a proud grandmother to 9 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ysidro Bermudez on December 8, 2007; infant grandson; and grandson, Craig Ortega.

She is survived by her children, John Ortega, Patrick Ortega and wife, Beverly, Leonard Bermudez and wife, Leanne, Conrad Bermudez, and David Bermudez; 9 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and many other relatives and a host of friends.
